# Sign in > Sign in to By Dawn with an email code, a passkey, GitHub, Google or your company's single sign-on, then choose, create or join an organization. This page shows you how to sign in to By Dawn, in the web app or the desktop app, and how to choose, create or join an organization once you're in. It also covers staying signed in, switching organizations and signing out. By Dawn has no passwords. You sign in with a code sent to your work email, or with a passkey, GitHub, Google or your company's single sign-on. ## Sign in with an email code 1. On **Sign in to SAW**, enter your **Work email** and choose **Email me a code**. 2. By Dawn emails you a 6-digit code. Enter it on **Check your email** and choose **Verify code**. The code works for about 10 minutes. If it hasn't arrived, check your spam folder, then choose **Resend code**. Your email is your account. You can't change it later, so use the one you'll keep. After you sign in with a code, By Dawn may offer **Sign in faster next time**. Choose **Add a passkey** to sign in next time with your fingerprint, face or device PIN instead of a code. ## Other ways to sign in Under the email box: - **Continue with a passkey**: sign in with a passkey you've added before. - **Continue with GitHub** or **Continue with Google**, when By Dawn offers them on the sign-in screen. - **Continue with SSO**: your company's own sign-in page. If your email's domain uses single sign-on, By Dawn tells you, and **Continue with SSO** is the main button. Your admin may require it, and then there's no email code. See [Single sign-on](https://docs.bydawn.com/sso/). In the desktop app, GitHub, Google and single sign-on open your browser. By Dawn shows **Continue in your browser**: finish signing in there, and you come straight back to the app. If the desktop app says single sign-on isn't available in this app yet, sign in from the web app. ## Choose, create or join an organization Everything in By Dawn belongs to an organization: your company or team. Once you're signed in: - If you belong to one organization, By Dawn opens it. - If you belong to several, **Choose a workspace** lists them. - If you belong to none, **Create your workspace** lets you start one. Enter an **Organization name** and choose **Create & open board**. You're its owner, and the [Start guide](https://docs.bydawn.com/start/) walks you through setting it up. ### Join your team If a teammate invited you, open the link in the invitation email and sign in with the address it was sent to. An invitation only works for that address. You land on your team's board. For the admin's side, see [Members and invites](https://docs.bydawn.com/members/). You can also paste the invitation's token, which starts `inv_`, into **Invite token** on **Create your workspace** and choose **Join from invite**. ## Stay signed in In the web app, **Keep me signed in** keeps you signed in on that browser as long as you use By Dawn at least once a week; after 7 days without using it, you sign in again. Leave it off on a shared computer: you're then signed out when you close the browser, or after 12 hours without using By Dawn. The desktop app keeps you signed in the same way, with no box to tick: as long as you open it at least once a week. If you sign in with single sign-on, your session lasts 24 hours. When your session ends, a bar says **Session expired**, and nothing new loads. Choose **Sign in again**, and you pick up where you left off. ## Switch organization If you belong to more than one organization, choose **Switch organization** in the account menu (your initials, at the top right). See [Switch organization](https://docs.bydawn.com/organizations/#switch-organization). ## Sign out Open the account menu and choose **Sign out**, then confirm with **Sign out**. Signing out ends the session on this device only, and doesn't delete anything on it. To sign out somewhere else, such as a computer you've left behind, open **Settings › You › Account**. **Active sessions** lists this device and the sessions used in the last 7 days. Older ones are under **Show N inactive sessions**, and you can still revoke them there. **Revoke** signs one session out, and **Sign out other sessions** signs out all but this one, inactive ones included. ## FAQ **I didn't get the code. What now?** Wait a minute and check your spam folder, then choose **Resend code**. Check that you typed the address you use for work: By Dawn sends the code to exactly that address. **Can I use two By Dawn accounts on one computer?** One at a time. Sign out, then sign in with the other email. To work in several organizations with the same account, use **Switch organization** instead. **Is By Dawn's sign-in the same as my Claude sign-in?** No. Agents sign in to Claude on the machine they run on, separately from your By Dawn account.
